La Cheve Bakery and Brews

At the junction of Soscol Avenue and Adobe Lane stands the Adobe House, a brick and wood building built in 1845 and current home of the popular La Cheve Bakery and Brews. The popular Mexican roadside spot is the manifestation of Cinthya Cisneros’ dream to create a place that celebrates family, culture and gathering around good food.

When she was four years old, Cinthya was brought from Michoacán, Mexico to Napa, California. Leaving home and all the people and culture was a big risk for her parents, and she was inspired by their hard work and ardent belief in providing their daughter a better life. She pursued her passion for chemistry throughout high school and navigated college as an undocumented person until the age of 21. After graduation, she decided to combine her love of science and gratitude to her parents and open a family-operated bakery featuring delicious Mexican flavors and craft beer. She found work as a high school chemistry teacher in Sacramento while attending business and beer classes at both Napa Valley College and in Oakland. Cinthya later stepped away from the classroom to take a specialized entrepreneurial program at Napa Valley College’s Napa Sonoma Small Business Development Center. In 2018, Cinthya entered her business plan into the Youth Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition, and won first place in the college division, netting La Cheve a $1500 kickstarter.

La Cheve offers a delectable all-day brunch menu that features Cinthya’s mom’s delicious baking, Mexican dishes that harken back to childhood, and pairings of refreshing craft beers created by Cinthya herself. Break from the Napa heat with a pint of Cinthya’s own brews and pair it perfectly with one of Momma’s signature conchas.
