Savor the Escape: Discover Rustic Charm & Modern Luxury at Carneros Resort & Spa
By Nicole F.
Carneros Resort and Spa isn't your typical hotel. From its Wine Country farmhouse aesthetic and rolling vineyard views to its luxury amenities, fun activities and farm-to-table dining, the hotel is elevated in every way. The 28-acre property, nestled between the Napa River and the Mayacamas Mountains, is an idyllic escape just 12 minutes from downtown Napa.
Instead of traditional guestrooms, Carneros offers standalone cottages, residences, and luxury homes spread throughout 17 neighborhoods with cute names like Poppy and Persimmon. Flowers and fruit trees frame pathways around the property. Rocking chairs decorate front porches and indoor/outdoor living designs mean tons of natural light and lots of time in nature.
Standalone cottages offer 450 square feet of indoor space and 736 square feet outdoors. Inside, get cozy by the fireplace and enjoy stylish, neutral-toned décor. To access your secluded outdoor oasis, push through floor-to-ceiling patio doors and find a sundeck, al fresco shower, landscaped garden, firepit, and chaise lounge.
Another offering, their Two Cottage Suites, are connected by a shared deck in a private backyard. They’re ideal for friends or families and offer similar amenities to standalone cottages, but with a larger footprint—900 square feet of indoor space and 1,000 square feet outdoors.
Designed for extra space and privacy, the 1700-square-foot residences at Carneros offer all the comforts of home, including a full kitchen and dining room, one king bedroom, plus a second king bedroom with a queen Murphy bed. The 1,000-square-foot backyard includes a fireplace, hot tub, and gas barbecue.
Carneros’ two- and three-bedroom luxury homes are located inside a gated neighborhood and provide a 2,400-square-foot interior space and 1,400-square-foot outdoor space. Highlights include kitchens with Viking appliances, living rooms that open to private courtyards, and rooftop sundecks to enjoy warm afternoons and starlit nights with a glass of vino.
Beyond the accommodations, Carneros’ amenities and on-site activities are excellent. The tranquil adults-only Hilltop Pool is surrounded by a grass lawn and flanked by umbrella-topped chaise lounges. Here, you can soak up unobstructed stretches of Napa's mountains and vineyards while poolside attendants help with food or beverage needs. The property also has a separate kid-friendly pool (Otto's Pool). For extra self-care, visit the resort's spa for a massage, facial, body scrub, and more.
Carneros' three on-site restaurants embrace a farm-to-table philosophy with organic, seasonal ingredients sourced from its culinary gardens, on-site chicken coop, and nearby farms.
FARM: Elegant dining with seasonally inspired menus is expertly paired with local wines and craft beer. Just steps from the dining room, find the POST Wine Tasting Room. A former functioning post office turned tasting room features a rotating list of Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley wines.
Boon Fly Café: A local favorite known for its brunch and casual all-day menu, this café set inside a rustic red barn serves everything from donuts and bagels to omelets and burgers.
Hilltop Dining Room: The countryside views are just as impressive as the restaurant's fresh flavors. Bonus: all guests receive a free daily breakfast buffet.
From complimentary orange cruisers to pickleball, bocce, cornhole, and guided tours of the working culinary gardens, the Chick-Inn, and the aviary, there's no shortage of unique activities. Work up a sweat in the fitness center or opt for daily wellness classes ranging from Gentle Yoga to Tone & Sculpt. You can also stargaze with rented telescopes or watch a movie outside in your private backyard while roasting s'mores by the firepit. There are so many reasons to plan your escape to Carneros Resort and Spa.
